AoMA Awards 2025 - Academy of Modern Art

The Academy of Modern Art is dedicated to supporting emerging artists through various initiatives. We express this mission with passion, as it's our driving force. The AoMA Awards 2025 features a prestigious art competition where a $10,000 prize will be awarded to the artist who submits the best artwork reflecting the theme 'Primary', chosen by our curator team. Winning this award not only brings acclaim but also invites you to join our curator team as an honorary member. Additionally, we provide valuable media coverage to bolster your career as an artist. Unfortunately, applications for this year's emerging artists awards have now closed.

The work submitted to the Academy of Modern Art must be your own and relevant to 'Primary'.

If you are under 18, we require a guardian or parent cover letter to accompany your entry.

All submissions for the AoMA Awards 2025 must be received by email at info@academyofmodernart.com.au by the 31st of February 2026.

Artists are required to showcase at least 10 other works they have created as part of the art competition.

Only one submission per person is allowed.

Additionally, artists will need to provide a 'bio' detailing their artistic journey and what winning this award would mean to them.

The winner of the emerging artists awards will be invited for an interview that includes media coverage.

Successful applicants who progress to round two will be notified by the 31st of April 2026.

Please note that the curators of the Academy of Modern Art (AoMA) reserve the right to withdraw the competition at any time and for any reason.

The decision made by the AoMA curators will be final.

Since our founding in 2015, the Academy of Modern Art (AoMA) has significantly impacted the local arts community and emerging artists overseas. Through our various art competitions, we have launched the careers of many talented individuals, provided accessible cultural experiences to thousands, and contributed to the economic and social vitality of our region.
